Bio

As a sculptor Sean Paul blends a unique mix of antiquity and everyday items in his work. Born to a Native American horse jockey he spent his youth migrating with the seasons, allowing America's ever changing culture to define his ideals and cultivate a greater respect for the ancestral. With formal training in Performance and Costume Construction, Sean Paul has mastered the skills for the work you see today. He continues to study ancient cultures and recreate their most sacred objects using mass consumed goods.

Artist Statement

Discarded materials illustrate the amount of waste

we create on a daily basis, and reveal how we choose to spend our money.

Ancestral and religious themes dominate my work

criticizing society's worship of capitalism.

I redefine trash, pushing the boundaries of sculpture,

and explore the definition of what is sacred.
